Day 39 Just Keep Swimming, Swimming, Swimming
Woohoo! I'm down a total of 22.8 pounds as of this morning. How fun is that?? I love watching the scales go down.. well, in my case, UP and then down. My body seems to have a quirky sense of humor- have to have a gain right before a nice loss. Weird. Anyway, I have to admit this week has been kind of tuff. Thanksgiving dinner looked mighty good.. pork roast, mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, my favorite jello salad, green bean casserole.. sigh. Ah, well. I've carefully counted the days and I will be past maintenance and will be able to eat Christmas dinner with no guilt. Yea! In the meantime, I have 6 more syringes in my fridge so, skipping my usual Wed, I am on the countdown. Three more days of 500 calories after the shots are finished and then I can graduate to a larger variety of food. Can hardly wait! Broccoli, cottage cheese, grapes, eggs.. pretty much a Zone diet. Sounds good to me! LOL

Day 36 Happy Thanksgiving!
And, it IS a day to be thankful weight wise.. I'm down 21 pounds as of this morning!! Bill was so cute- he immediately got a back pack and weighed out 21 pounds on the scale so we could all feel just how much weight that was. Its a LOT! No wonder my knees are happier!
The kids are all off to their in-laws for the big Thanksgiving feast today. Tomorrow everyone is coming here so they can celebrate Thanksgiving with us. It will be fun to have a bunch of the clan gathered. Its always a good time when the Pecks get together. :)

Day 33 Happy Birthday, Max!
Ok, couldn't resist wishing my cute little grandson a happy day- He is three years old today. :)
It was a happy day for Grandma as well. Today's loss of 1.6 pounds was awesome! Nice to be off the plateau and moving again.

Day 32 Plateau! But..
can't complain. Because, my 'someday' clothes are someday no more!!! Yep, today I'm declaring victory. I tried them on this morning and they fit! Yipee! So, even if the scales aren't reflecting the change, its nice to have evidence that things are nevertheless changing for the better. :) Gotta love it.
I counted my syringes and, after today's shot, I have 13 left. Wonder what changes the next 2 weeks will bring?

Day 29 Mmmm Appreciating Wonderful Food Aromas
I know it will sound strange, but, I've gotten to the point where I can 'feast' on just the smell of good food. I find myself taking deep breaths and just delighting in the yumminess of it. I don't mean that I'm craving it or particularly wanting to eat it.. I am just taking pleasure in the smell! The bakery in Costco, a freshly prepared salad with green onions and Balsamic vinegar, burritos, gingerbread.. to die for. Anyway, it is strangely satisfying. I'm actually looking forward to all the wonderful smells of Thanksgiving!
Another lovely weight loss today. Love it! :)

Day 27 Fun Meter Pegged
Warning. This is going to be a grumbly post. I don't know if I will do 42 days again. Today I'm feeling like I am about done with all of this. For the first time on this diet, I've been really HUNGRY yesterday evening and this morning. And, to add to the fun, I'm up a pound again. I know, I know, that's usually followed by a nice loss the next day or two but.. erg! I'm also feeling stressed because I have so much to do to get ready for next week and little to no energy to do it with. Oh, well. Guess I will have to resign myself to the truth.. Martha Stewart I ain't! LOL I do love the fact that my clothes are looser and I'm 'this close' to being able to wear the 'someday clothes' I have in my closet. I'm only 3 lbs away from the weight I was last year (*before the roof caved in), so any loss from here on out will be new territory. Yea! Okay, maybe I'm not feeling quite so grumbly after all. :) Here's to a skinnier tomorrow!
*Last year was an emotional roller coaster. My mom, who had been living on her own, got pneumonia in Oct and landed in the hospital. It was downhill from there. Whereas she had had moments of forgetfulness before, she spiraled into full blown dementia. The docs told us she could no longer live alone so.. we had to clean out her house, find a rest home, & move her to another state to live near family. Her health continued to decline until she finally passed away in March. It seems my way of coping with stress and grief is to eat. A lot. Top that off with one high risk pregnancy daughter and another daughter's wedding in June.. and you have the 'perfect storm' for weight gain. UGH
